Rajab Shah also known as Karakoram Crown is the most famous mountaineer of Pakistan. He is the only one who hoisted the flag of Pakistan on all the five highest mountains of above 8000m in Pakistan. For the excellent achievements he was awarded with Pride of Performance by the former president of Pakistan Farooq Ahmed Khan Laghari. His record is unbroken since 9 years.
Rajab lives in Shimshal village of legendry Hunza Valley. Situated at 3000m in the heart of Karakorams, Shimshal is unique in its mountainous environment. Rajab has been providing technical trainings to the youth of the area as a mountaineering instructor at the Alpine Club of Pakistan. Thanks to his untiring voluntarily efforts, following his foot steps today more then twenty of his student climbers have done ascents on the 8000m peaks. Therefore Shimshalis have got an image of being strongest people in the adventure tourism. As Nepal is known for the Sherpas similarly Pakistan is known for the Shimshalis.
